What a pleasant surprise to receive this beautiful video from ANN MALINGA ❤️
A keepsake that still exists to this day - little picture frames with a message thanking guests for coming to their wedding.
The message was created for that day but the frame can go on to hold other memories too.
Ann has kept this frame as is, as a reminder of a very special day in her life. Her beloved husband Robby has since passed on but It’s little things like this that can bring you back to a moment, a feeling, a chapter of your life and remind you of its significance.
She reminded me why I do what I do. Creating keepsakes that live beyond the day.
Thank you Ann for this beautiful reminder.
Sometimes we forget our WHY as we get caught up in the business of life, following trends, trying to keep up, constantly looking at what’s next when all along, the answer can be found in moments like these.
Love and light to you Ann.❤️
Afrocardz
Independent retailers of quality paper products and accessories in Johannesburg, South Africa. Afrocardz is all about being who you are. Well, it can.
It’s been that way since 2010, when Nthabiseng Sibiya created a Dream Board, her vision of what was to come. She foresaw a place, far from the halls of mass production, where people would meet to express themselves freely. They’d chat, sketch, and feel the rich texture of high quality paper, card and material. Together, they’d create stylish originals, set fire to monotony, and challenge the grey
No flypast at the rugby tomorrow?
Surely our paper jets can enter the chat? 😂✈️
They may be paper but the support is real.
Go Bokke you’ve got this! 🇿🇦🏉💪🏾
A gift with personality…The perfect gift just needs one little detail to make it feel truly personal.
Bring us your leather gift and we can add initials, a name or a special detail through debossing as long as the surface is flat enough for us to work on.
A wallet. A notebook. A favourite leather piece.
Something you’ve already chosen with someone special in mind. We will add the personal touch.
A great gift is lovely but a personalized gift feels like it was meant for them.
It’s not every day that we get to foil on velvet paper. So when it does go through our presses it’s truly special.
This particular job? Even more spectacular. 👏🏽
The block was large. The design was intricate and the pressure had to be just right. Too little and the foil wouldn’t stick in certain areas. Too much and we would end up with smudging.
Mike spent quite some time setting up the machine and fine-tuning everything to get the best possible outcome. The machine even went into the sick bay at one point, clearly feeling the stress of this delicate work too. 😂
Even the used foil tells a story. What’s left behind after the press has done its work is almost a whole design in itself. It’s a reflection of just how intricate this particular foiling was.
These are covers for bespoke boxes, which means every inch and every position matters. There’s very little room for error when the finished piece needs to be this precise.
We’re really pleased with how these turned out. 👏🏽👌🏽
Well done Mike. 👊🏽
Hello September! We’re ready to bloom. 🌺
A new month. A new season. A little more colour.
May we make room for what’s ready to bloom and enjoy the flowers along the way.
No Monday blues in our presses. 💙
Just blue paper, a little foil and the satisfying magic of making something beautiful.
That’s a good way to start the week and ending off the month - Letting go of what no longer serves you,
Celebrating how far you’ve come and stepping into what’s next with clarity and courage.
Here’s to making room for what’s next. ✨

Women’s Month might be drawing to an end but our role is unending.
It takes a village to raise a child.
I’ve been thinking about the women who pour into us, guide us, speak life into us and help shape who we become. Before Lebone left for university we spent some time drawing from the wisdom and inspiration of a woman who has seen her grow into the young lady she is today.
As a stationery lover and a believer in the power of words, I’m always drawn to creating spaces filled with things that motivate and inspire. So I had so much fun helping lebone decorate her new home at university.
My favourite corner is of course the stationery corner - a little place where she can pause when home feels far away. Surrounded by words and symbols from home, it’s a small space where she can breathe, reflect and remember to be a light.
The final frame is Lebone simply showing gratitude for the wonderful time we spent making her place feel like home.
She carries with her more than the things she packed for university. She carries the love, inspiration and words of wisdom of the women who have seen her grow.
To all the women who show up, stand in, nurture, guide and play a crucial role in the lives of our children - thank you.
Women’s Month may end but our role never does. ❤️
Weekend glow…velvety feels and a little golden detail. ✨
From the sick bay to saving the day. Our machines never give up! 😂
Shout-out to Mike who doctored his baby back to health. He even learnt a few new tricks along the way and adding more stripes to his many foiling skills. 💪🏾💪🏾
Type, set and personalised. ✨
Type setting is slightly different from foiling or debossing blocks. We call these little pieces of type slugs.
They’re perfect for wording and names but not for logos or intricate designs - which is why they’re ideal for personalising diaries, notebooks, Bibles, travel tags, wallets and more.
A little old-school printmaking technique still doing beautiful work today. 🤎
Sick bay vibes…🤧
One of our team members is feeling the Wednesday blues. 😂
Luckily there’s a capable team on hand trying to make her feel better. She’ll be up and running in no time! 💪🏽
Meanwhile Mike is lurking around like a very worried dad.🤣🤣 One of his babies is under the weather which means he’s not well either. 😂
We really care for our team members. We are because of them. ❤️
