When you get to design your own office... chef's kiss. It's been an exciting year designing, then moving in, and getting settled in our new office in Seattle's Smith Tower. See photos of our new space, by photographer Alessandra Brescia, on our portfolio.

Smith Tower Office – Board & Vellum Honoring the building’s iconic architecture, Board & Vellum brings a modern twist to its new office on the 16th floor of Seattle’s Smith Tower.

Rustic materials, modern geometry. Plantings arranged so every unit, rooftop, courtyard, street level, feels the landscape’s presence.
On the roof: custom hardwood benches, gas fireplaces, and terraced planters that carve out privacy while keeping sight lines open to downtown Seattle. At night, the benches glow from within, LED lighting tracing the path’s geometry.

A small white box of a ranch house that came down to its foundation, and came back as something quietly extraordinary. The curved line became the through-line: fireplace, soaking tub, cabinet details, vaulted ceiling. All of it carefully considered for this gem of a project.

The shelving wasn’t just about storage — every dimension was calibrated to the width of a vinyl sleeve, every shelf aligned to the windows. Walnut casework, Queen Anne moldings, alcoves for a sofa and a cassette collection. Modern craft, historic shell.

In this Laurelhurst cottage, square openings were refined into elegant parabolic arches, lending the home a softness that feels simultaneously architectural, anchoring, and enduring.

Soft, diffuse light from a generous window creates a peaceful character in this Seattle primary bathroom, while a bold, cobalt blue tub adds a vibrancy that highlights, rather than detracts from, the relaxing atmosphere.
