Hi Everybody! It’s me, Kelly, the owner of Retro Modern. As many of you know last year I downsized the business and moved out of our retail showroom on Gavin St. Since that time, I have continued to work with many of you on pieces for your spaces.

I have been doing lots of thinking and inward searching about how to move forward since the downsize. When I created Retro Modern Furnishings, I wanted to provide an authentic experience offering timeless mid century modern design at its core. I wanted to celebrate the iconic designers of the past including Charles and Ray Eames, Eero Saarinen, George Nelson to name a few. But I also wanted to support up and coming designers. Ultimately, I modeled my brand concept after a well known furniture brand and store called Design Within Reach (DWR) that I knew we did not have in Raleigh.

Well how does the saying go? If you can’t beat them, join them! Today I am excited to announce I have started a new position with DWR as a Design Specialist. I will be working at a brand new brick and mortar store opening late summer in Raleigh -North Hills. Stay tuned for information about our grand opening. You are all invited of course!! I can’t wait to see your smiling faces again!
