Good Morning Rockport!!

Still in progress. Made some changes to the blending. I'll sit with it for a few days, hopefully I won't make too many more changes. I repainted the body, no pic yet, but the purple/pink had to go! Pics of the new body color coming Monday!

Just delivered my first commissioned piece, and client loved it, yeah! She had a vision for the table. Credit for the chairs goes to her, I only did the table. She also painted the fish in the leafs. What a fun dinning room for the coastal town of Rockport!

Well part of my morning wasted. When the piece was on its back I could see the space between drawers, so I spent some time painting the bars to match the drawers. Once I stood it up with the drawers in, that was no longer an issue. Will be sanding that and painting them the body color. Have a few blending touch ups left, then on to body color.

Got a little more done today. Still needs blending work but I think it's getting there. I'm testing out base paints, so disregard the sides. I know I needed to do that first but the vision wasn't there, but I think I see it now. Lol... stay tuned!

I started blending the sides. Not in love with the bottom section, I liked it, then I added to it and now I don't like it, but I have some ideas on how to change it. The right side still needs work, but I think it's going in a good direction. Still not quite sure of the core color yet either.

I finally got her put on the piece. I think I have a direction now. The base color will change a lot once I start blending, and this is the 3rd base color I tried!! Been a little intimidating since I'm new to this kind of project, but I'm going to "trust" the process!! Fingers crossed on this one.

So I'm back to the ugly nightstand and what a mess. It was painted with black chalk paint when I got it. I scuffed sanded it. I sprayed it with Schlack. Then I primed it in white. After I primed it in white, I put red bonding glaze on the top to make it nice and smooth, and then when I went to sand it, it started to peel up. I've never had that happen before . But I guess cause it was chalk paint on laminate that's what happens. Now I'm down to laminate and start over. I learn something every time I do a new piece.

Montana Baby Cache is DONE!! Only thing left is to tighten the k***s, stage with my photos and get her listed. I think she came out great. I decided not to line the drawers as they look great as is. Thoughts?
