The new Public Health and Environmental Laboratory in Columbia is a state-of-the-art facility serving the S.C. Department of Public Health (DPH) and SC Department of Environmental Services (SCDES).

Replacing a nearly 50-year-old facility, the four-story laboratory was designed to expand testing capacity, incorporate advanced technology, and create a safer, more flexible environment for the critical work happening inside. This facility will support South Carolina’s public health and environmental needs for decades to come.

Young Office was proud to provide the furniture for a space built around innovation, collaboration and some very important work.

💡 If you were a piece of furniture, what would you be and why? A standing lamp - helpful, bright, bringing clarity to a room.
📞 What’s something you like to do the old-fashioned way? Talking instead of texting or emailing. I believe technology has taken some of the personality out of work and miss the days of having a conversation by phone or, even better, in person.
🎨 Why did you choose to pursue a career in your field? I studied Fashion Merchandising and have always loved putting things together and making them tell a story. I love taking a blank canvas and turning it into something beautiful that brings joy to the people who interact with it.
☕ One thing you can’t live without? My Christian faith and a delicious hot mocha latte!

We’re proud to continue our partnership with Roper St. Francis Healthcare through the furnishing of its new Health Pavilion at Sawmill Centre in Summerville, South Carolina.

From welcoming waiting areas and clinical spaces to caregiver workstations and staff breakrooms, each environment was thoughtfully furnished to support comfort, efficiency, and the important work happening throughout the facility every day.
