For this piece, we built a custom hard maple float frame, finished with Rubio Monocoat to protect the wood while preserving the natural, raw look of the maple.
We’ve had the opportunity to frame several of Kristin’s works over the years, and we’re always glad to have another one come through the shop.

This was the largest framing project we’ve taken on so far!
Many thanks to minjikw for trusting us to build a custom stretcher and float frame for her paper tapestry.
The stretcher is built from 2" Red Oak, with a Hard Maple float frame featuring a 4" reveal and a ½" face width. The frame is finished with rubiomonocoatusa to retain the natural look and character of the maple.
Final dimensions: 91" × 68" × 4"
