A gorgeous breadboard top for a dining table is taking shape, soon to become the centerpiece of warm and memorable dining experiences.

Sometimes when you run into obstacles such as a floor register where your cabinet needs to go, you just gotta turn it into a design element. I designed this decorative grill into the kick of these base cabinets, and to be honest, I'm glad the registers were there. I think this detail fits nicely with all of the beautiful traditional woodwork throughout the house and really adds to the overall look of the cabinets. The bottoms of the base cabinets were built to direct the air out the front and a little weather strip on the bottom ensures a tight seal.

Drawers can be a very functional part of any cabinet or piece of furniture, but who says they can't look good too? They don't always have to be made from the same old boring plywood or clear birch. They can also be made from rustic wood with epoxy filled voids. Or they can have custom dovetail layouts or book-matched bottoms. They can also have grain-matched faces, or even be built from thin strips of wood. The options are endless with a little creativity!
