Spring has sprung at Rouzan's Silo Farm!!
I love working in the garden and the with wonderful people that live in the neighborhood that come and help me.
It has been fun to learn more about growing cut flowers and fruit. They have fruit along the edges of the farm (bluberries, blackberries, figs, citrus, apples, pears, plums, persimmon, pomegranate and grapes), vegetable beds, cut flowers and herbs.
It is as beautiful as it is productive - both in crops produced and in community building. ππ©βπΎ

We had a wonderful day adding a new raised bed garden for Nicole!
Topped her existing bed with fertilizer and compost and filled the new bed with soil, fertilizer and compost. We always put in an irrigation system with a timer, so no one has to remember to water (ain't nobody got time for that)! Then was the real fun part - planting and seeding!
If you are in South Louisiana, we have just reached the time when we can plant the spring favorites - tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, southern peas, basil and flowers (zinnias, cosmos and sunflowers) were all planted in Nicole's garden.
Excited to see it grow for her and her sweet family!

It is so fun to visit gardens we have planted.
In this formal garden area, we added 6 new beds among established boxwood plantings.
Lush broccoli, kale, lettuce and arugula are growing interspersed with herbs. Swipe to see what it looked like at the end of January when we planted. My, what two months in the garden will do!
