The fall movies are on. The cozy drinks are happening. And suddenly all I want to do is make things with my hands and be whimsical (when do I not? 🙃).

So naturally… I made a fall version of our DIY Moss Art Kit 🍁🍂

No experience needed. No rules. Just moss, flowers, texture, color, your creativity and an excuse to spend an hour making something beautiful instead of staring at a screen.

Nothing keeps you humble like photographic evidence of where you started 👻

My very first moss frame was… horrendous. 😂 But I saved the photo because I knew one day I’d want to look back and see how far I’d come.

There’s no success without a few initial failures! You don’t have to be great to start - you just have to start.

So, what’s something you’ve been wanting to start but haven’t because you’re afraid to fail?

There’s something surreal about walking into a space and seeing something you made hanging on the wall. 🥹🌿

Earlier this year, we were commissioned by Art Partners Group to create these custom moss pieces for CLA’s new North Austin office - and this was my first time seeing them installed.

Art Partners Group was an absolute pleasure to work with, and seeing how beautifully they incorporated our work into the finished space made the whole project even more special.

The entire office is SO thoughtfully designed, with pieces from several local artists throughout.

I came for the grand opening, met some lovely people, heard the nicest compliments about our work, and left feeling very proud of this little business we’ve built.

BUT I did a thing and turned some of our bestselling Mosstique pieces into greeting cards 🤗

This was one of my late night inspirations, and I was just going to include them with our orders, but...

seeing them printed for the first time has me thinking - should we actually sell these?!

Because I mean look at them! 🌸

And obviously I couldn’t stop at English… 👀 We’re planning to have these in multiple languages too, because apparently I don’t know how to have a small idea.

So help me decide if I should add them to the shop. BE HONEST because I am using the comments as market research. 😅

Also a bonus drinking game - feel free to take a shot every time I say “actually” or “cute” 🫠

I have a confession: I LOVE a good challenge and working with hands-on clients. 😂

Hear me out.

When someone has strong opinions about every design decision, you get feedback in real time - and personally, I think it makes me a better artist.

This project kicked my behind from start to finish. Every choice had to be intentional: the colors, the placement, the balance, the materials, what to add, what to take away… and how to somehow make all of it work together.

There were definitely moments when I thought, “Okay, how in the world am I going to pull THIS off?” 😅

But that’s also my favorite part.

I love being pushed outside of what I would normally create. I love solving design problems. And I love that moment when all the individual decisions finally come together and suddenly… it works.

This one challenged me more than most... And ended up becoming one of my all-time favorite Mosstique projects. 🌿
