Hey all, i work with an organisation called Health Nest Uganda that works to promote the rights and dignity of older persons. We support older persons to work towards a healthy and fulfilling life style. I must say i have learnt alot from older persons and i am honoured and priviledged to share my lessons with you. With the support of the Canadian Government we supported older persons in communities of Entebbe to make briquettes. This is an alternative cooking fuel to our usual firewood and charcoal. The aim of this project was three fold; to promote good health among older persons by not breathing in smoke from firewood or charoal, to promote environmentally friendly cooking methods by providing an alternative fuel source to trees, and finally to enhance the household incomes of older persons from the sale of these briquettes. So i started using them and i must say i am addicted. The cook for longer. they are affordable, they do not emit fumes or smoke, and my household and i support older pesrons in the end. I would like to encourage you to take on this challenge and try them in your home.
