Finally made it back to Samui from UK hols .. FIRST TASK
- Grab the GP350 MT keys off ‘Al’.
This New Scooter has done 460 running in miles so far and is as factory supplied . ( seat swap only )
FIRST IMPRESSIONS - After 2 hrs of riding.
# front shocks need winding down to 5mm thread. Thats a given right .
# Definitely needs our VCR kit to bring down the ride height. I’m so used to the lowered scooters of our fleet and the ride confidence that brings - I found it a touch difficult to maneuver at low speed, parking, reverse paddling out of a space etc..
# The affectionately named noodle soup hook 🪝 🍜 still works great on this model 😆.
# The accelerator nut adjustment on this one is wound right up, The initial take off on twist is very responsive. I’ll wind that back a touch ( it’s a personal thing - I like 1/4 inch of twist before scooter moves away.
# The initial general ride and feel of this scooter is very good, Comparable to my beloved GPMT300.
I do know there is mixed reports on facebook groups of some of these scooters stuttering, stalling on tick over, underwhelming acceleration and power delivery. ( Dealers have a straight forward fix for this on first service I’m told )
Our scooter has had this dealer RA ECU reflash upgrade done at factory prior to delivery.
It definitely ran smoothly through the rev and speed range . It was a pleasure to ride and absolutely fine.
We haven’t done 600 miles -oil change and first service yet so I didn’t push it past 50 mph. But it felt peppy and I got the impression that there was more horses to unleash if I pushed it .
I dropped it off to Shep today - He will finish the running in exercise -first service- oil change-check it over etc etc… Then in his words
“ Ring its bloody neck”
Sheps got the GP300SE spec model. It will be interesting to hear his feedback on the acceleration-rev limiter -72 mph barrier that several owners have posted in groups about.
I’ve just got back from Shep’s and had a blast on my beautifully smooth GP 300 MT .
We all now know that these new +5 euro spec regs do introduce an element of restriction into these scooters and there isn’t much a manufacturer can do about this if they want to pass homologation regulations.
But to me this new MT 350 feels like it has more pep in it than the 300 I just stepped off of.
More to come on this followers .
anyone moans - my staff picked more of these things up today aswell .
