Resident Designer Notes:

“The Plane Chair can be perceived as both brutal and playful, rudimentary and sophisticated.

Beneath the apparent simplicity of form lies complex loadbearing connections; both the seat back to the back connection and the cantilevering cross brace and skid legs.

Detailed consideration was given to the division of pieces and the proportional relations.

The back rest is made from six slices of solid timber at 30 mm thick. The seat is seven pieces. The back rest is centred so that each panel is aligns across the joints of the seat pieces.

The legs are constructed from three slices of 30 mm thick timber. There is a lovely mathematical symmetry if one looks closely”.

Sacha is defined by its distinctive silhouette and graphic character, and the addition of Regos brings a fresh tactile dimension to one of our most recognisable chairs.
