I haven't posted in a while, but I will be at the Methven Craft Fair, this coming weekend 5-6 August. I haven't been for a couple of years but I look forward to seeing people there again. I will be selling things that I make from the scraps left over from making furniture, and talking to people about items that they would like made.

This week marks 5 years since I started Thompson Woodworking after I retired from teaching, although it was not until the end of 2018 that I stopped having some part time classes.

My first job was to build the interior of this motorhome. It was a very detailed job and took quite some time to do but I was very pleased with the way it turned out.

I've done all sorts of things since. Furniture, joinery, boats, trophies, signs and kitchen utensils (my last job for the day today was to make a special rolling pin). There's plenty of variety, and I'm still very much enjoying it.

I enjoy making display cabinets, and I was recently looking back over some of the ones that I have done over the years. So I thought I would share these photos with you, even though the quality of some is not so good. I hope you enjoy looking at them.

I have been repairing this table, which extends with a mechanism that you work by winding a handle. I have repaired a number of these before. But this one extends from a small square table to a banquet table about two and a half times its original size with three large extension pieces that fit in where miost tables only have one . Quite amazing.

This is my final post in my series on repairing a sailing dinghy. The job is now finished, as the owner of the boat is going to tackle the painting. I hope you have enjoyed following the progress of this job. It's been something new for me to get my head around editing videos, so that has been my learning over this project. Take care, stay safe.
