MTSFB successfully conducted a Public Engagement Session for the draft Technical Code MTSFB2511R0: Internet of Things (IoT) – Safety, Security and Privacy Management under Security, Trust and Privacy Working Group on 6 August 2026 at Shaftsbury Asteria, iTech Tower, Cyberjaya.

The session brought together industry stakeholders to review the draft Technical Code and provide valuable feedback on its technical requirements. The engagement served as an important platform for knowledge sharing and constructive discussions, ensuring the Technical Code is practical, relevant, and aligned with current industry needs and best practices.

MTSFB extends its sincere appreciation to all participants for their participation and contributions. Your insights play a vital role in shaping robust and industry-driven Technical Codes that support the development of a secure, trusted, and sustainable IoT ecosystem in Malaysia.

MTSFB continued its collaboration with Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) through the fifth Expert Sharing Session under the university’s Fibre Optic Certification Course.

The session held on 25 July 2026 at UTeM’s Fundamental Electronics Laboratory was led by Mr Tan Swee Beng of Redsun Engineering Sdn Bhd, a member of MTSFB’s Fixed Network Facilities Working Group. Throughout the event, he shared practical insights with 26 Engineering students on fibre optic network infrastructure and the Technical Codes that support its planning, deployment and management. 🌐

The engaging two-hour session ended with a Q&A, giving students the opportunity to connect directly with an experienced industry professional and explore how technical standards are applied in real-world settings. 💬

Through initiatives like this, MTSFB continues to bring industry and academia closer together, equip students with relevant knowledge and help build a future-ready talent pipeline for Malaysia’s digital communications sector. 🚀

Yesterday, MTSFB was pleased to co-organise the IPv6 Awareness Seminar with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), officiated by YBrs. Encik Abdul Karim Fakir bin Ali, Managing Director of MCMC. The seminar brought together government, industry, academia and the technical community to discuss the next steps in Malaysia's IPv6 transition.

Through insightful presentations and engaging panel discussions, participants explored Malaysia's IPv6 readiness, implementation challenges and the critical role of Technical Standards in enabling a secure, scalable and future-ready digital ecosystem.

Thank you to all speakers, panellists and participants for making the seminar a success. Together, we are building the foundation for Malaysia's next generation of digital connectivity.

The Radiocommunications Network Facilities (RNF) Working Group at MTSFB develops Technical Codes that support the planning, design, and deployment of telecommunications infrastructure, covering in-building and external facilities, as well as structural, mechanical, electrical, and safety requirements.
