The Collector’s Residence by Lim + Lu is a thoughtful dialogue between Chinese heritage and contemporary finesse, where chinoiserie motifs, vintage pieces and personal heirlooms lend each room a distinct sense of history.
A carefully curated furniture selection introduces mid-century character and enduring craftsmanship throughout the home. In the living area, the NEW WORKS Covent Sofa and Audo Copenhagen Seal Lounge Chair (1956) balance comfort and quiet sophistication beside the Calacatta Viola fireplace, while the walnut &Tradition Drawn Chairs (1956) bring timeless presence to the dining area. In the bathroom, GUBI’s FA33 Mirror (1933) offers a refined brass accent, while the Satellite Pendant (1953) casts an atmospheric play of light and shadow in the bedroom.
Across the house, colour and surface tell the story: stleointerior’s Marble Paint in light beige and dark hunter green builds layers of depth and a quiet mineral richness, echoing a dialogue between historic references, expressive finishes, and iconic design pieces.

Design destinations — Curated by Japanese hospitality brand NOT A HOTEL, KITAKARUIZAWA BASE is part of an innovative concept creating one-of-a-kind vacation homes with acclaimed creatives in Japan’s most beautiful locations. Designed by outdoor & street wear brand White Mountaineering founder Yosuke Aizawa the forest retreat layers wood tones, textures and furniture with understated precision.
Beneath the iconic triangular roof, designer Yosuke Aizawa selected FRITZ HANSEN’s wooden-legged Grand Prix chair, whose distinctive silhouette subtly evokes the shape of a mountain. Limited to 300 pieces, each chair is customised in a jacquard-woven fabric featuring a parquet (Yosegi-zaiku) pattern – a signature motif used in White Mountaineering’s shop interiors. The textured design adds a personal connection to Aizawa’s visual language while complementing the warmth and craftsmanship of the forest retreat.
Beyond the glass façades, outdoor classics such as the Riviera sunbed and Between Lines deck chair in solid teak extend KITAKARUIZAWA BASE’s calm, nature-led philosophy into the landscape. Every property feels like a collectible design experience – deeply connected to its landscape, craftsmanship and lifestyle, rather than a standard hotel room.

When Danish design was renowned for the warmth of wood, Poul Kjærholm pursued another strand of Nordic modernism, transforming industrial materials into refined works of art. Through his work with FRITZ HANSEN, he developed a language of precision, pairing steel with leather, cane, and stone with clear intent.
Often described as a ‘furniture architect’, Kjærholm saw furniture not as ornament, but as architecture in micro. Rather than sentimental names, he identified each piece with a numbering system (PK00–PK119), giving his designs a timeless, architectural identity. From the stackable PK3 Chair to the refined PK22 Lounge Chair and the disciplined PK61 Coffee Table, his work is light yet strong – precise yet expressive – and now resides in permanent collections of museums around the world such as MoMA (New York), the V&A (London), and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (Denmark) nad more.
His work will be on show at Wool in 2027, enjoy the early bird pre-order offer only this August.
Pre-order period: until 31 Aug 2026
