KAO FURNITURE’S NEW TABLE.

Crafted from 100-year-old solid Georgian oak and supported by mahogany legs, this is one of the finest projects we have ever had the privilege to work on.

The beauty of the wood, the honesty of the materials, and the countless hours of craftsmanship came together to create a piece that will last for generations.

Kao’s new walnut table.

Crafted from solid walnut, with a hand-shaped and carefully refined surface that celebrates the natural character of the wood.

No oil or stain was applied, allowing the walnut’s authentic color, texture, and warmth to remain exactly as nature intended.

Master the basics of traditional Georgian woodcraft. Our friends Pido and Mate—skilled carpenters from Oni—are visiting Kao Furniture again to lead a hands-on workshop where you will learn to draw and hand-carve traditional Georgian ornaments.

Led by historian Ivane Javakhishvili in the late 1930s, this research expedition across the regions of Georgia compiled oral histories from locals detailing construction techniques, furniture making, and various other traditional crafts and agricultural customs.

Within this historical research, we came across a small detail — one that eventually became our logo.

Architect Ramaz Kiknadze’s contribution to this research stems from his ongoing study of lost Georgian building methods. With a dedication to preserving this heritage, he has worked to locate, digitize, and share these and other foundational texts with a wider, modern audience
