It was a pleasure to recently welcome students from Grŵp Colegau NPTC Group of Colleges to our facility, following an introduction from Tai Tarian.
The primary aim of the visit was to give students a clear, practical insight into the types of roles they may want to pursue once they complete their multi skilled courses. Currently studying Level 1 Mixed Skills, the group are looking to progress into Stage 2, where retrofitting also becomes a key focus.
Through a presentation and guided factory tour, we were able to showcase the variety of opportunities within timber frame manufacturing, helping students better understand where their skills could fit and develop within a real working environment.
With demand across the industry continuing to grow, it is more important than ever to support the next generation in exploring career pathways and making informed decisions about their future.
Thank you to Christine Rogers at Tai Tarian for facilitating the visit.
We look forward to continuing to work with partners like Tai Tarian to help create meaningful routes into the industry.

Proud to see this impressive visitor centre at Gnoll Estate Country Park brought to life.
SO Modular Ltd were engaged by Andrew Scott Ltd as the specialist timber frame supplier, initially from a consultancy perspective.
Our team overhauled the original design, maintaining the intended aesthetics while developing a more cost-efficient build solution. We then designed and manufactured the open plan glulam timber frame structure, together with MMC closed panel systems for this prestigious project. We also supplied and installed the home-grown black larch cladding to the external skin of the building.
The design of the superstructure was highly complex. We delivered the heavily loaded flat roof structure, incorporating bespoke details throughout, including secret glulam to glulam connections, pergolas and louvres. This was a technically demanding scheme, and our specialist timber expertise was central to its successful delivery.

We are delighted to announce that our SO Spruce closed panel timber wall system has achieved NHBC Accepts certification ✅
This is a significant milestone for us and places us amongst a small collection of timber frame manufacturers throughout the UK who have achieved this recognition.
The SO Spruce system is a pre-insulated closed panel timber frame for external walls, manufactured in our ISO9001 accredited facility.
NHBC Accepts provides assurance to developers, contractors and clients that innovative systems such as ours have been rigorously reviewed and meet NHBC Standards. These are systems approved for use in homes covered by all NHBC warranty and insurance policies, which account for around 70–80% of new homes built in the UK each year – giving further confidence in quality and compliance.
A huge thank you to our dedicated team who worked tirelessly to achieve this. This certification reflects both our technical expertise and commitment to driving forward modern methods of construction in Wales and beyond.
If you would like to find out more about this system and how it could benefit your project, please contact our Partnerships Manager Jodie Follett at [email protected].

We are pleased to share that we have received a certificate of accreditation from ICW Endorsed for our closed panel system.
This marks an important milestone for us. Achieving ICW Endorsed accreditation means our system has been independently and rigorously reviewed, giving clients, developers and partners additional confidence in its performance, compliance and quality.
With this latest accreditation, we now hold both ICW Endorsed and NHBC Accepts certification for our closed panel systems. Having both standards in place provides even greater assurance that our system has been thoroughly tested and assessed, and that it meets the highest requirements expected across the industry.
It is a great achievement for the entire team and a reflection of the hard work, technical expertise and collaboration that underpins everything we do. Securing dual recognition is not only a proud moment internally, but also a strong step forward in our ongoing commitment to delivering quality, compliant MMC solutions that our partners can trust.
We look forward to continuing to strengthen our relationship with ICW and building on this momentum as we support the delivery of high-performing and future-ready homes.
