The Porch Dogs are a Calgary-based roots, blues, and Americana collective formed around 2021 as the brain-child of the late international blues legend Tim Williams.
The real deal blending swampy blues, West Coast swing, East L.A. Latin roots/R&B, and rollicking Americana—characterized by a mix of humorous, self-deprecating originals, offbeat covers, and tight polyrhythms.

Steve Gerard – Lead Vocals & Guitars (Owner/engineer at Bette Jane Recording Studio)
Mitchell Brady – Guitars & Vocals (Recent cross-generational addition)
Bill Price – Bass & Background Vocals (First-call Calgary blues bassist; former member of Sonny Rhodes' band)
Kevin Belzner – Drums (30-year collaborator of Tim Williams; played with Back Alley John, Tremoloco)
Mike Woodford – Percussion (Bongos, timbales, congas; studied under Motown's Uriel Jones)
Fresh Energy: The record showcases the band’s updated lineup, featuring guitarist Mitchell Brady (of Jade Elephant). His addition brings a distinct cross-generational edge, blending their classic roots foundation with a sharper, modern drive.

Launch Details: The official CD launch takes place Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Ironwood Stage & Grill in Calgary (8:00 PM – 10:00 PM; $20 cover).

Does anyone know 'Super Van Man Dan' from Canmore? I need to thank him properly, here is the remarkable story of our brief roadmagic meeting.
I'm reaching out for help to find this 'very good Samaritan and his gorgeous 1980s GMC Vandura Day Van.
Here's the true story as outrageously impossible as it is, I had just climbed to the highest point of the Jasper National Park, out of cell coverage and thinking the old Bull Moose is doing great, when the fan belt snapped and it over heated in a cloud of steam leaving me no option but to hold out the broken fan belt and my thumb to providence and the highway 👍🏽 and Providence delivered big time, the very first vehicle was Dan's gorgus diamond blue day van, coming screeching to a halt (amazing) Dan appearing with a huge cheery smile, he said "I may have one of those" rummaged in his van and came up with the very one (true story) he also had all the tools and knowledge required to fix it and after we exchanged selfies was on his way like super man (that he is for me now and for ever)
He comes from Canmore and ide like to connect properly my failing memory has his name as Dan Melvkey (least a similar Irish sounding name ending in key)
Putting this out to providence as well ❤️🩹 🦸🏽♂️🫎
