On site proof load testing, wherever our customers need us. ⚙️
Our team recently travelled to site to provide the personnel, equipment and engineering support required to complete proof load testing on a customers jib crane aboard a vessel.
The work included testing two davit arms and four pad eyes, with all testing independently witnessed by DNV.
The davit arms were tested to a 0.99 tonne SWL and 1.24 tonne proof load, while the pad eyes were proof load tested to 2.5 tonnes.
Once testing was complete, all certification was produced and uploaded to the Durham Lifting customer portal, providing a clear record for the customer to access when required.
This is just one example of the support our team can provide on site. From proof load testing and inspection to certification and ongoing lifting equipment support, we can take our testing capabilities directly to our customers and help ensure their equipment is safe, compliant and ready for operation.

For Amanda Gardiner, growing Durham Lifting has always been about investing in the right areas.
As Managing Director, Amanda works across the business, with a particular focus on its continued development, the people behind it and making sure Durham Lifting has the capabilities to support what customers need from us.
That has meant continued investment in our facilities and engineering capabilities, but equally importantly, in the team.
As Amanda puts it, “We have built a knowledgeable and experienced team with the capabilities to support our customers.”💬
It’s an approach that keeps Durham Lifting moving forward while remaining focused on what matters, strong engineering, good people and delivering the right solution for our customers.

September is here, and it’s a significant month for Durham Lifting.
We’re heading into it following an incredibly busy August for Amanda, Paul and the wider team, with projects progressing across the UK and internationally, alongside plenty happening here at home in Teesside.
There’s a lot to look forward to this month too. September holds a particularly important milestone in the Durham Lifting story, which we’ll be sharing more about very soon.
For now, it’s business as usual, engineering, testing, projects and supporting our customers wherever the work takes us. A busy few weeks ahead. ⚙️

This week marked the close of one chapter for Wan Djawad at Durham Lifting, and the beginning of another.
Wan has been an asset to the business over the years, bringing a great deal of engineering knowledge and experience to the team and playing an important role across some fantastic projects along the way.
His expertise and contribution have been valued, not only by the team at Durham Lifting, but across the projects and customers he has supported.
While his time in the business has now changed, it certainly isn’t goodbye. We’re pleased that Wan will continue to work closely with Durham Lifting going forward, and we look forward to continuing that relationship.
A big thank you from all of us at Durham Lifting for everything you’ve contributed over the years, Wan. We wish you every success with what comes next and look forward to working together in a new capacity.

Engineering starts with understanding the requirement.
Behind every lifting solution is a conversation about what needs to be achieved, the challenges involved and the right way to approach it.
Here, Amanda Gardiner and Paul Gardiner are discussing activity at Britannia Test House, surrounded by just some of the equipment and engineering capability that supports our work across and MultiSec Engineered Lifting Systems.
From testing and crane support to bespoke engineered lifting systems, bringing experience from across the business together helps us find the right solution for each customer and project.
Built on heritage. Driven by engineering.

Durham Lifting is proud to be supporting the next chapter at Pallion Shipyard in .
Following decades of downtime, our Service Division has worked with Colin Ainsley and the team to help bring two existing cranes back into operational condition, carrying out servicing, maintenance and remedial work, alongside supplying additional lifting equipment for the site.
The project also has a personal connection for our Director, Amanda Gardiner, as Pallion was the location of her very first site visit at the beginning of her career.
Returning years later and seeing industry back inside the building makes this one particularly special.
We’re proud to play a part and wish Colin and the Pallion team every success as activity at the site continues to develop.

Behind our Service Division is a team that understands the importance of being there when our customers need us.
As Service Manager, Samuel Gardiner works closely with customers across crane support, servicing, maintenance and wider lifting equipment requirements.
As Samuel puts it: “We’re not just selling equipment, we’re building relationships through trust, service and support.”
That approach is a big part of how our Service Division operates. It’s about understanding the customer, responding when support is needed and helping keep their lifting equipment safe, reliable and operational.
For Samuel and the wider team, the relationship does not end once the equipment is supplied. It is about being there throughout its working life.
Another important part of the Durham Lifting team, and the service we have built our reputation on.
