How Cold Temperatures Lead to Damp and Mould...

As we’re now in January, cold weather is at its peak and many homes are at greater risk of damp and mould. The problem isn’t just the lower temperatures, it’s how cold air behaves inside your home.

Cold air holds far less moisture than warm air. When warm, moisture-laden indoor air meets cold surfaces such as uninsulated external walls, windows, or room corners, it cools rapidly. Once it reaches its dew point, the excess moisture turns into water droplets. This condensation creates the ideal conditions for damp patches and mould to develop.

How to Prevent Damp and Mould During the Winter Months
The key is managing both temperature and humidity, especially at this time of year:

🔸 Maintain consistent, low-level heating – aim for a minimum indoor temperature of 18°C, even overnight.
🔸 Ensure good ventilation – particularly in kitchens and bathrooms where moisture builds up quickly.
🔸 Improve insulation – warmer internal surfaces reduce the chance of condensation forming.
🔸 Wipe away condensation daily – especially on windows and cold walls.

Taking these simple steps in January can help protect your home throughout the rest of winter.

⭐️ End Of Tenancy Cleaning

What is included in the end of tenancy cleaning?

End of tenancy cleaning covers every area of the property from top to bottom. This means all rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, appliances, windows on the inside, fixtures, fittings, and flooring. The goal is returning the property to the condition recorded in your check-in inventory.
