Interior designer Mia Spencer starts every consultation with one question: what’s not working?

Not what you want your kitchen to look like, but where it’s actually failing you day to day. The morning collision with your husband over the coffee machine. The corner you always bump into. The small, daily frictions most of us just learn to live with.

Because a beautiful space that hasn’t solved those problems isn’t a successful design. It’s just a nice-looking one.

MLUE - a colour we know well by now, courtesy of our favourite trade client. These two handmade rugs anchor the water zone, a two seating area living room from Rina Vastu’s latest residential project.
One is a deep navy blue rug, alive under light, paired with brass details and textural detaila. The other, a round rug in blue and silver, softens the second seating area without breaking the palette.
