MOODBOARD TUESDAY — No. 3 | Modern Tradition

This week’s moodboard explores a modern take on the traditional kitchen — bringing classic proportions and familiar materials into a space designed for contemporary living.

At the heart of the palette is Beam Oak, a reclaimed material chosen for its rich grain, natural imperfections and depth of texture. Finished in a deep brown tone, it gives the island a beautifully established character — almost as though it has always belonged within the home.

The surrounding NCS S7502-G cabinetry introduces a sophisticated charcoal tone, allowing the warmth and texture of the oak to become the focal point, while the modern Shaker detailing keeps the overall design refined and understated.

Inside, Kronospan Bronze Expressive Oak continues the warmth through the cabinetry, adding another subtle layer of natural texture.

Completing the palette is Atlas Plan Calacatta Imperiale Silk porcelain. Its soft background and expressive veining bring lightness and elegance against the darker cabinetry and richly textured timber.

It’s the combination of these textures that creates the traditional feeling — reclaimed oak, expressive grain, Shaker detailing and stone-inspired surfaces — interpreted in a cleaner, more contemporary way.

MOODBOARD TUESDAY — No.2 🤎✨

For No.2 of our Moodboard Tuesday series, we’re exploring a palette built around contrast, warmth and understated luxury.

At the heart of this kitchen in Hampstead is Wenge Amaretto — a deep, rich wood finish that gives the cabinetry its strong architectural presence. Against it, NCS S 0502-Y introduces a soft, warm white, creating contrast without the harshness of a pure brilliant white.

The Atlas Plan Calacatta Delicato worktop sits beautifully between the two. Its light background continues the softness of the painted cabinetry, while the delicate veining introduces just enough natural movement to break up the large surfaces.

Then come the details. ✨ Liquid Metal runs through the handles, horizontal strips and plinths, adding a warm metallic accent that catches the light and creates a subtle sense of luxury throughout the kitchen.

Even behind the doors, the material palette continues with Kronospan Tiepolo Walnut carcasses — introducing another layer of natural warmth and texture.

Dark against light. Wood against stone. Matt finishes against metallic details.

A palette designed around balance rather than matching — and one where every material has its own character while still feeling part of the same composition.

FRONT DISPLAY — BESPOKE, DOWN TO THE DETAILS. ✨

Sitting at the front of our Belsize Park showroom, this display was designed to do more than simply showcase a kitchen — it was created to demonstrate what’s possible when bespoke manufacturing and technically challenging detailing come together.

At the heart of the design is our take on a Scandi Shaker, combining deep Wenge timber frames with veneer panels laid on an angle. It’s a detail that looks beautifully simple when finished, but requires considerable precision to manufacture — particularly when maintaining the direction, consistency and alignment of the grain across the cabinetry.

The palette is grounded by a dramatic Cosmic Black natural quartzite, finished in leather to emphasise the incredible movement and texture within the stone.

We’ve contrasted this with Hormapal metal-effect material on the curved cabinetry, while the upper cabinets use heavily tinted glass — dark enough to appear almost like mirrors during the day, yet transforming once illuminated to reveal the display behind them.

And then there are the details. Bespoke handles created specifically for this display, combining chrome with a complementary metallic finish, bring another layer of individuality to the furniture.

Created in association with Sub-Zero & Wolf, this display is all about showing what we love to do at Point 5 Kitchens: combining materials, craftsmanship and technically demanding details to create something genuinely bespoke.

NEWCASTLE — Teaser No.2 👀

Another little glimpse of our Newcastle project before the full reveal next week.

This time, we’re focusing on the bespoke shelving unit — designed to carry the same contrast of natural timber and deep black that runs throughout the kitchen.

The open composition gives the piece a more architectural feel, mixing concealed storage with display areas, glass shelving and carefully considered negative space.

One of our favourite details is the lighting concealed behind the black back panels. Rather than simply illuminating the shelves from above, the warm light traces the panels from behind, creating a soft glow around their edges and adding another layer of depth to the furniture. ✨

The warmth of the timber and lighting against the matt black creates a contrast that feels bold, but still very natural — tying the shelving beautifully into the rest of the space.
