Bit of a personal one to finish the week off. And by personal, I mean a piece for our own house.
After first enquiring about buying a beautiful old 1950’s Maple dresser from a lovely lady north of Brisbane, I was then struck down with some health issues which took me out of action for several weeks. Well, during that illness, Lauri (lady in question) contacted me out of the blue asking if I would like the dresser free of charge.
There’s a longer story in here but I’ll do a better video over coming days :-) ). Anyway.. several months later (I’ve been busy with lots of other furniture nerding, I’ll have you know :-) ) and here we are.
To see the initial plans I had for this piece come out almost exactly the way I had initially thought really had been so validating and ever so enjoyable and exciting. I love it! It’s already got a place waiting for it at home and we will relocate it over coming days for its life in our main living room :-)

Its been a very quiet last few days in the .and.finished.furniture household as we have both been struck down with the flu. Things have trickled along very slowly as a result.. What better time to post about something i forgot to update on a few weeks back. I tried for the first time some months ago when doing several paint washes using to help temper base colouring i wasnt a fan of. Well, from that moment on ive become a little hooked to the point... Well, heres just a glimpse of the new F&F paint stock :)
Im absolutely loving working with this paint right now, it really is so very easy to work with and the finish is spectacular.... (id say even more about it if found it within themselves to want to send over some samples for a budding facebook upstart with ambitions :) 🥰)
Id love to hear about your experiences with FMP and possibly see pieces you have created yourself :)
