The landscaping team recently completed the first phase of this new-build garden in Newtonmore 🌿

Starting with a completely blank canvas, the team created a simple flower bed, gravel area and sleeper planter to help bring the garden to life.

The beds were filled and prepared, ready for the clients to add their own planting. Ground protection mats were used throughout to protect the new lawn from machinery, with the site left clean and tidy on completion.

A simple but effective start, with plenty of potential for the next phase!

As our team has grown, keeping everyone aligned and communicating has become more important than ever.

Our regular team meetings give us the opportunity to get everyone together, discuss the week ahead, raise any issues, share ideas and make sure we’re all working towards the same standards.

When you’ve got multiple teams out on different jobs every day, good communication can easily slip if you don’t make time for it.

Full-Time | Seasonal / Fixed-Term Position

Morrison Tree & Landscape are looking for a reliable, hard-working and practical person to join our team based in Grantown-on-Spey.

This is a varied, hands-on role working across all areas of the business, including grounds maintenance, landscaping and tree surgery.

🌱 The role could include:
• Grass cutting & grounds maintenance
• Fencing & landscaping
• Hedge cutting & vegetation clearance
• Assisting our tree surgery team
• Operating tools & machinery
• General labouring and site work

🌲 We’re looking for someone who:
• Is practical, capable and willing to learn
• Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in their work
• Enjoys a varied role rather than doing the same thing every day
• Is comfortable working outdoors in all weather
• Can work well both independently and as part of a team
• Is friendly and professional with customers
• Ideally has previous experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, construction, agriculture, forestry or a similar practical role
• Holds a full UK driving licence

This is initially a full-time, non-permanent position, however there may be the opportunity for it to develop into a permanent full-time role for the right person.

We’re looking for someone who wants to get stuck in, develop their skills and become a valuable part of a growing team.

🌳 Highland Estate Tree Work

The tree team have been busy this week carrying out removals on trees that were deemed dangerous or diseased following a tree survey on a Highland estate.

This large beech was located next to services and close to surrounding buildings, meaning it needed to be carefully dismantled in sections to ensure the work was carried out safely and without causing damage. This was made increasingly hard with the amount of midges that joined us 😬🪰

Nothing goes to waste either. The timber will now be processed into firewood and left to season, ready to go into our firewood sales next winter. 🔥🪵

A great job from the team, working methodically to bring the tree down safely and leave the site clean and tidy. 👏🌳
