Because the book of faces doesn’t allow me to post photos and videos together. 🤔

Thanks to Tim and Ashley who have kindly sacrificed some of their potential firewood so I could mill an Ash tree trunk into some quite lovely looking boards.
The pieces are roughly 5 1/2 feet long, 24-27” at the bottom and in excess of 3’ at the top. If I can get them kiln dried I’m planning on making a new dining table out of one within the next hopefully.
As for the ones I don’t use………I don’t plan on burning them! They would look much better in someone’s house.

Following on from my earlier post, it will probably be a while before I make any of the shelves that will hang on this so I decided to make some mock ups just incase anyone is dying with anticipation!!

The beauty of this system is that you can move the ‘boxes’ around and have different sizes to suit your needs.

Finally getting round to bringing another idea to life.

Don’t think I’ve seen and application of this type before but with 8 billion people or so on the planet at present there can’t be many one of kind products around??

Any ideas of what I’m making?

2 log stores pretty much finished. Unless you have already tried yourself, you might be surprised what you can do with a smushed finger! I just did the roofs today, I’m not that mad!

Fresh ash wood can be so easy to split that it almost (almost!) takes the fun out of it. 15 minutes and only really had to swing the axe a few times because of some knots.
If only I had a fire……..

Fitted a couple of bananas earlier in the week!
As this demonstrates once again, even bananas can be straightened without opening up the mitred joint if you give the glue time to set.

Got my hands on some oak for free! Turned most of it into firewood (don’t have a fire, just do it for fun!) but saved 2 pieces which can be turned into table tops if anyone is interested.

Some of you may have wondered why joiners scribe their skirting boards rather than mitre them, or maybe not!
Regardless, here is a good example of why it is a good skill to learn. Sometimes the skirting boards don’t quite match up for some reason 🤔.

Anyone want an oak framed mirror? The outside of the frame is roughly 4ftx3ft.
Had it on our wall till I decided the safest way to keep a different one for a friend was to hang it in this mirrors place.
In the long term would like to put up a painting so don’t really need this anymore.

Did some chainsawing this morning, some nice Ash wood rings. Unless someone would like them for stools/tables they’ll likely end up in someone’s fire!

Did some first fix work amongst other things for a few weeks, then boarding a full house (15mm 2400x1200mm sheets of fire board are no joke, 37kg fyi) and trimmed out 3 houses the last three weeks.
Been itching to get the chainsaw out again so had some chainsaw therapy today clearing a fallen branch of a fence. It always looks like so much timber until you saw it and stack it!
