Cyngerdd Harddwch Gwyllt / Wild Beauty Concert
Harddwch Gwyllt: Pedwarawdau piano gan Martinu a Brahms / Wild Beauty: Piano Quartets by Martinu and Brahms
Mae’r cerddorion Cymreig Richard Ormrod a Mary Hofman yn ymuno â’r feiolawraig wych Emma Sheppard (prif fiolawraig gyda’r 'English National Ballet') a Rebecca Knight ar y sielo (prif sielydd gwadd gyda Cherddorfa Symffoni Dinas Birmingham, a phrif sielydd gyda City of London Sinfonia).
Byddant yn perfformio pedwarawd piano hynod ac egnïol y cyfansoddwr Tsiec, Martinů; mae ei dri symudiad yn amrywio rhwng emosiwn dwys, telynegiaeth a ffantasi chwareus wedi’i hysbrydoli gan gerddoriaeth werin.
Dilynir hyn gan un o gampweithiau Brahms: y pedwarawd piano yn C leiaf, a elwir yn aml yn Bedwarawd Werther oherwydd ei gyfeiriadau at nofel Goethe, 'The Sorrows of Young Werther'. Mae’n waith llawn dwyster angerddol a harddwch telynegol.
Welsh musicians, Richard Ormrod and Mary Hofman are joined by the fantastic viola player, Emma Sheppard (formerly principal with English National Ballet) and inspirational Rebecca Knight on cello (guest principal with City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, principal player with City of London Sinfonia).
They will be performing Czech composer, Martinu's extraordinary, virtuosic piano quartet; its three movements move through intense emotion, lyricism and playful, folk music-inspired fantasy.
This will be followed by one of Brahms's masterworks: the C minor piano quartet, often known as the Werther Quartet due to its allusions to Goethe's novella 'The Sorrows of Young Werther'. It is a work of passionate intensity and lyrical beauty.

We’re down to the last few spaces for our next retreat, a quiet pause for anyone longing to slow down and reconnect. This time is to swap constant busyness and anxiety for balance and calm. Bring your tired body, busy head and leave with more headspace, renewed energy, and simple practices you can return to whenever tension creeps back in. Come on your own, or share the experience with a friend, mother, daughter, or sister. A few days to breathe, rest, and remember yourself. Message if you want anymore details. Thanks
A very special night hosting the Capel Curig carol concert. Thanks so much to our incredible vicar and wonderful Geraldine 🎹, Shan Aston, the angel children for performing and everyone for coming ❤️❤️ and singing. 🎵🎶🎄
