📚✨ Welcome to The Everglen Chronicles ✨📚

Everglen was inspired by Glenvar, my home here in beautiful County Donegal — the landscape, the feeling of home, and a little imagination all finding their way into the story. 💚💛

Today I’m sharing a short reading from the first book, The Magic of Christmas. ❄️✨

It’s only a little glimpse into Everglen — just enough to open the door to this gentle, magical world without giving too much away. Think of it as the first little sparkle of what is waiting inside. ✨

I’d love to know — if you could step into Everglen for one day, what would you most hope to discover there? 🏡✨

😂 If last week’s video felt a bit confusing, it was for me too!

John was relaxed, laid-back and not rushing around like usual. Then came my favorite surprise… John making French toast on a Saturday morning! 😳😂 And not only that — he actually sat down with me, cup of tea in hand, and ate breakfast instead of banging away and creating dust all around us!

If you know John, you’ll know just how unusual that is. 😂 Wonder how long this relaxed version of John will last!

What was your favorite part of this week’s video?

If you’re new here, we’re bringing John’s granny’s cottage back to life here in Donegal. 💚💛

Sunday at the cottage. 🏡💚💛

And according to John, there’s one very important rule…

“No work on Sundays — if you work Sunday, you redo it Monday.” 😂

So today we’re taking things a little slower, enjoying the cottage and letting the jobs wait until next tomorrow .

I have to admit, after everything that’s been happening here lately, a quiet Sunday sounds pretty good. ☕️

What does your Sunday look like today?

John is back! ❤️🔨

And he’s as busy as ever, finishing off a few bits in the kitchen before moving on to the next jobs.

He’s got quite a few projects lined up for this afternoon… 👀

Can you guess what he’s up to next? 😄🏡

💚💛 I need your help! 💚💛

I’m figuring out the future of my Etsy shop and would truly love your thoughts. 🥰

At the moment, I have my Donegal photography prints 📸 and Geraldine’s beautiful Irish gift set ☘️🎁, but I’d love to grow it into something that really reflects Rustic Cottage. 🏡💚

Should I keep it focused on Donegal and Irish-inspired pieces? 🇮🇪
Add signed books or gifts? 📚🎁
Or widen it out a little more?

If you were browsing my Etsy shop, what would you hope to find? 🤔

Your ideas could genuinely help shape where I take the shop next, so I’d love to hear them. 💚💛

Thank you so much. 🥰

🍂 I can’t believe it’s September already! 🍂

The summer has absolutely flown by. The children are heading back to school, the evenings are beginning to draw in, and despite the weather ☔️, we’ve had such a wonderful summer here in Donegal. 💚💛

While we’ve been busy renovating the cottage, I’ve also been quietly working on something really special.

Throughout the summer, I’ve been taking photographs 📸, collecting traditional Irish recipes from family, gathering local folklore and stories from friends, and writing about the places, history and little things that make Donegal so special.

And little by little, it all came together in this journal. 📖✨

Coming Home to Donegal — A Donegal Journal Keepsake ☘️

And there’s one little detail that makes the cover especially meaningful to me — the photograph was taken by John. ❤️

I hope this journal brings a little piece of Donegal into your home, whether Donegal is where you live, where your family comes from, somewhere you love to visit, or simply a place you dream of exploring one day.

I’ll pop the link in the comments. 👇
