Some work in progress on this sweet little bureau. Emperors Silk with a blend of Scandinavian pink and Antoinette. I couldn’t resist using this beautiful wallpaper on the inside, so I’ve been carefully cutting the pattern from the backing. More to follow!

A lovely job this week. I’ve painted a few of Andy’s handmade MDF units recently using both Annie Sloan chalk paint and eggshell. His work is perfection and makes my job easier! He recommends me to paint, I recommend him to build, that’s what it’s all about! ✌️

I hosted a 1-2-1 this week with a lovely lady who wanted to learn how to blend colours and distress paintwork. She spent 2hrs with me at the studio and I showed her how to totally transform her table. Sometimes it’s just about having someone give you the confidence you need to be brave and just do it! It’s the part I love most about teaching. If there’s a technique that you’ve been struggling with or something new you’d like to be shown, I am available for 1-2-1 sessions, get in touch for a chat.

Reasons I love Annie Sloan chalk paint #1001 😆 I gave this old worn out pine table the chalk paint Magic at the studio this week and now it’s blending in with all the gorgeousness that surrounds it! Rich Aubusson blue to the legs and a French Linen and Graphite mix wash to the top, all finished with clear chalk paint wax.

Pink to make them wink 😉 Annie Sloan Capri Pink is such an amazing colour and with that flash of gold leaf inside, this little cabinet is a tease! Question is, can your decor handle it?! It’s available!

It always amazes me how much can be achieved in a day! I had the pleasure of teaching a mother and daughter today at our Complete Chair Makeover workshop . We wrangled with old tacks and staples, stripped back ancient upholstery and fabrics, and built the seats back up from the frames. They then made their choice of fabric and paint and finished their chairs off with personal details. What a great job 👏

I’m busy getting chair workshop ready! The first of 2021 tomorrow at The Paint Studio - this chair makeover workshop is a lot of fun and the transformations are always awesome!

These commission pieces have been a real pleasure to paint. They came to me in a bit of a mess - scruffy paint work which didn’t match, years of dirt and sticking drawers. As soon as I was told they were for a 1940’s Judy Garland loving teen I knew Lem Lem was the colour! It’s such a soft colour and paired with bright gold gilding wax it’s now got all the glamour it deserves! I will be sad to see it go!

Here are the finished trugs! I’ve always admired sign writers and what they do so when asked if I could repaint the wording on the side of these trugs I was up for it! The writing before was very, how can I say, shouty?! I feel that this is far more in keeping with the wedding vibe that Debbie is creating - I hope she agrees! I don’t seem to be able to post multiple pictures so I can’t show you the before 🤷🏻‍♀️
