We're delighted to share the completion of another inspiring education project for the University of Leeds.
Working alongside the University, we designed and installed the new Level One Silent Study area within the Laidlaw Library, creating a calm, focused environment where students can work independently with comfort and privacy.

The completed space combines individual study booths with collaborative study settings, providing a balance of concentration, flexibility, and wellbeing. Every detail has been carefully considered to support the student experience while delivering a modern, welcoming learning environment.

A fantastic project to be part of – thank you to everyone involved.

♻️ Giving great furniture a second life.

At the University of Lincoln’s Minerva Building, four large sets of used furniture were transformed through BOF’s specialist reupholstery service - extending their lifespan while delivering significant cost savings. The project demonstrating how circular furniture solutions can combine sustainability, smart investment and great design.

A fantastic example of what can be achieved when we refresh, reuse and rethink rather than replace. 🌱

Green Man Festival 2026 – an incredible celebration of Welsh culture, creativity and community! 🌿✨

As proud Patrons of the Green Man Trust, BOF is passionate about supporting opportunities that build skills, inspire creativity and create lasting positive change.

It was a pleasure to hear from Fiona Stewart and Cardiff University’s Vice-Chancellor, and fantastic to see Cardiff University students representing the new Green Man Trust initiative this year.

Another installation complete - and what a location!
We’re delighted to see our acoustic meeting pods installed at the David Ross Sports Village, University of Nottingham.

Perfectly positioned within this impressive space, the pods provide students with a comfy and private place to meet and collaborate. The acoustic sound absorption is excellent, creating a noticeably quieter environment inside the pods despite their location in such an active setting.

A fantastic installation and another great example of how acoustic pods can create useful, flexible spaces without the need for permanent construction.

A big thank you to the University of Nottingham. We’ve really enjoyed working on this project and look forward to the next one.

A proud restoration for Cardiff University. ♻️

Working within the Vice-Chancellor's Office, our team carefully reupholstered these traditional chairs using beautiful Melin Tregwynt fabric, preserving their character while giving them a sustainable second life. A perfect example of craftsmanship, heritage and circular design working together.

A winner’s delivery! 🏆💛

This week, we had the pleasure of presenting this beautiful Uchiwa Chair by HAY to Romans, our competition winner from Design North - held in Birmingham’s fabulous Jewellery Quarter.

It was great to personally hand over his prize. We think it’s safe to say the Uchiwa has found a very happy new home!

A fantastic day at HQ filled with learning and collaboration! 🌿

We started with inspiring sustainable product training from Sixteen3, further understanding how thoughtful design can minimise waste, extend product life and support a more circular future. We then rounded off the day with more product insights from Frovi, showcasing their latest furniture innovations, materials and design thinking.

A huge thank you to Nakiesha and Isabelle for putting together a delicious lunch and to the teams at Sixteen3 and Frovi for visiting us and sharing their expertise.
Days like these remind us how important it is to keep learning, sharing ideas and building strong partnerships.

We loved this project so much, we couldn't resist sharing it again!

Working with the University of Bradford, we supplied the new furniture for Student Central, supporting the major refurbishment of the Union of Students home.
These exciting spaces have become the hub of student life, creating welcoming environments where students can connect, collaborate and thrive.
