The Danish Defence Forces join the framework agreement signed by Bittium with the Finnish and Swedish Defence Forces. 🇫🇮 🇩🇰 🇸🇪

The Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation DALO has joined the framework agreement on command-and-control systems concluded in November 2025 between Finland, Sweden and Bittium.

The agreement enables the procurement of Bittium’s tactical communications systems and products, software-defined radios, and secure software and phones, together with related spare parts, services, and support. It covers products and services that provide common situational awareness, communications, intelligence, and decision-making support for command-and-control operations and troop leadership.

"Denmark is pleased to be a part of the increasing shared efforts with Finland and Sweden in digitalizing the Armed Forces. Joining a common framework with them is the practical expression of that. It shortens the gap between deciding to work together and being able to do so," says Ulrich Baltzer Garde, Head of Communication Section, Business Area C4ISR at Land Division, Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization.

“When Finland and Sweden signed this agreement last November, the aim from the outset was to create one Nordic communications solution instead of separate national solutions. DALO joining the cooperation supports this goal,” says Tommi Kangas, Senior Vice President, Bittium Defence & Security, and continues: “Every country that joins the agreement makes it more meaningful also for the countries already involved. This is exceptional in defence procurement, and that is precisely why the agreement was structured this way.”

The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, FMV, has ordered Bittium Tough SDR radios for testing and pilot use by the Swedish Army. The order is the Swedish Armed Forces’ first procurement under the framework agreement on command-and-control systems that Bittium signed with the Finnish and Swedish Defence Forces in November 2025. The value of the order is approximately EUR 740,000.

“We are pleased that FMV has selected Bittium Tough SDR radios for pilot use by the Swedish Army. Our technology is already in use by, among others, the Finnish Defence Forces. Bringing it into testing by Swedish soldiers is an important step towards interoperability in Nordic command-and-control systems and tactical communications. We appreciate the trust this represents. Defence cooperation between the Nordic NATO countries has real strategic significance in safeguarding the defence of the North, as well as more broadly in strengthening European sovereignty. We look forward to supporting Sweden’s pilot and further developing our cooperation,” says Tommi Kangas, Senior Vice President, Bittium Defence & Security.

Arrhythmias happen when life happens. đź’“

At ESC Congress 2026 in Munich, we are launching Bittium Faros Pro™ and Bittium EasyFlex™.

We believe ECG recording needs to work in real life. 🚿 ⛳ 🏋️

Faros Pro supports long-term ECG monitoring with up to 21 days of recording on a single charge.

Long-term ECG recording gives healthcare professionals more opportunities to capture intermittent heart rhythm events that shorter recordings may miss.Âą

This can help patients get answers about their health sooner. đź’¬
