The boys are trotting the Polka Dot Trot again this year for Terri-Lynn as part of TEAM TLC with Colab. Terri-Lynn was an EXTRAordinary auntie, cousin, niece, sister, daughter, and friend. Technically, Ryder and Griffin are her first cousins, but since she was right there the second they were born, she was far more of an aunt and definitely the fun one.

She had this incredible, hilarious energy that just drew people in. Whether she was making everyone laugh until their sides hurt or accidentally motivating you to do something wild, her light was always bright, loud, and her spirit, unforgettable. Though she was taken from us far too soon, that energetic spirit lives on in everything we do (and every laugh we share). Any contribution is truly appreciated.

Today I sponsored the Masonic Charity Golf Tournament at The Willows on behalf of Pinnacle Interiors. My dad is a long-time Mason, so I decided to actually play this year to spend the day with him. The catch? I’ve never golfed in my life.

I played with the best crew: my dad Jim (Mach), his neighbor Greg (Hank), and his brother-in-law Greg (Choppy). No cool nickname for me yet, but we laughed all day, the guys were so patient, and we even played off my ball a couple of times! I may have found a new sport!

The real impact happened at lunch. A speaker from the school lunch program, who i heard called “The Ice Cream Lady” because she was rocking the dessert table, shared some truly heartbreaking stats about youth food insecurity in Newfoundland and Labrador.

This tournament has raised over $250,000 since it started, and she reminded us that tomorrow when we have our breakfast and coffee, we helped make sure a child doesn’t go to school hungry.

Today wasn’t corporate or stuffy, just good people making a difference. Huge thanks to the Masons, and to Mach, Hank, and Choppy for putting up with a rookie!
