Let's talk about planning, shall we? This client has the most beautiful view in the city, but the sheer amount of windows and angled walls created a steely and cold feeling that is the complete opposite of her sweet and colourful personality!

Trying to fill the space, she originally purchased an oversized sectional, however, it just made her felt even more awkward with the space.. That is a furniture piece that costed thousands of dollars, that did not work! That is what could happen, when one doesn't have a good furniture plan before jumping in.

She reached out to me, and below is a furniture plan I created for her. See what I would do to create functional areas within an open concept space, and how would I create focal points and vignettes for the different areas. I am very excited to guide her through this project, can't wait to turn a plan to a cozy home.

Measure, and then measure it again! I cannot stress how important measuring is when planning a room. This client had her dining room set up with the length of the table placed along the shorter side of the wall for years, as I came in for a colour consultation, I noticed the uncomfortable placement of furniture right away. I provided her with a new floor plan and now she's ready to finally get her dining room right!
