Many times we are ignorant of what is really taking from us daily, monthly and yearly. We are working but somehow our minds are kind of clouded or blocked by something. To wake up every morning to go to our work/job is a dangerous investment we are mostly unaware of. Look at the scenario below: * 160hrs or more per month at work plus 40-80 hours of morning preparation and commuting.
* Children cost (School fees, well being, Mopako, transport) 2,500 per month. This is when the school fees is paid in installments)
* Car travel Costs of petrol, let say maybe P1000.00, or public Transport; P500.00 if you connect the routes twice a day.
* P600 extra on food and drink at Canteens or restaurant, or Longstreet food than if you ate home
Drawing conclusion from the above scenario, it might cost you (Average employee)Close to P4,600.00 per month just to be an employee. But how much is our minimum wage, how many percentage of the whole employees earn more than P5,000.00.
NB; Take note that I didn’t add money for rental, Grocery at home, DSTV, airtime, Data, insurance, Stop orders or Savings. The fact is how are we surviving. This kind of setup perpetuates moral decay and loop holes into to corruption and other misappropriation. Who are we to blame?
