Have you ever just wanted a colour that was a slightly different shade to what you had? Me too, so today I experimented with tones and shades and came up with a perfect colour for my current project.
The best thing about it was I used the 50ml sample pots from Artisan Paint Company to do it. I didn't have to use larger pots of paint that I may not even end up using so it saves on products and money and we all love saving money where we can.

50ml pots are only $10ea and come in a huge range of colours.

What colour will you experiment with?

Why I never skip the cleaning stage of any found furniture.
For many.. many.. many years it's probably been cleaned with all manner of cleaning products until it wasn't. Then it's probably sat where dust settled, fingers touched, animals rubbed and bugs moved in.
Eventually it found its way to the curb on its way to landfill with all manner of dirty junk piled on it.
I have no idea what a piece has been through before I get it so I always give it a thorough clean before I start any surface preparation. I want to avoid pushing years of grime deeper into the grain of the timber.
Time spent in preparation will make the difference in your finished piece.

Hi everyone, do you remember when I found these MCM bedside tables in a hard rubbish pile?
(Me too.... What a score 🥰🥰)
Well I started their refinishing journey today.
The 1st thing I did was a thorough assessment of their condition and damage.
Thankfully they are in almost perfect condition structurally but did have some fragile failing veneer sections that I'll need to deal with.
Stay tuned to see what I do with them.

Refinishing quality used furniture just makes sense.

It's fun and inspires creativity, it's cheaper than a lot of mass produced furniture, older furniture has so much more character and individuality and can be a real centrepiece to your home and that loved family furniture piece has a chance at a second life so you are also reducing landfill waste too.

Yes it's almost Mother's Day.
Are you looking for something a little more unique, a little less same-same or cliche?
Have you thought about creating your own handmade gift?
From now until Mother's Day you can buy 2 50ml pots of colour and get the third free.
That's a saving of $10 and you can use them to create great personal gifts for your mum that she'll love so much more than a bunch of flowers that she'll have to throw away a week later. Lots of colours available and because they're professional furniture paint you have peace of mind that it's going to be durable and finish beautifully too.
