Varnish is a film. Film peels.
Teak moves with heat and moisture. A varnish film can’t move with it — so it cracks, water gets underneath and can’t escape, and you get black staining and lifting edges. Fixing it means a full strip-back.
A nano shield bonds into the surface of the timber instead of building a layer over it. There’s no film thick enough to crack or peel, so it wears away gradually rather than failing all at once.
Don’t varnish teak.
