Welcome Alan Rance, HMI's new Property Management Superintendent!
Hailing from England, Alan has lived in WA for 25 years, and brings with him a wealth of experience in insurance, real estate, and property management.
Having relocated to Port Hedland with his family, he is set to play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and overseeing all property management activities at HMI.

Hedland Maritime Initiative (HMI) has partnered with BHP Western Australia to bring 12 additional short-stay properties to the Port Hedland market.
The 12 HMI-acquired properties in the West End, comprising 24 bedrooms, will help to alleviate the shortage of short-stay properties in the area.
Individual tenants can stay at any of the properties for a minimum of five days and up to three months in any 12-month period, in accordance with the Port Hedland West End Improvement Scheme No. 1 (IS1).
BHP has generously funded the furnishings of all 12 of the first properties β this contribution has secured the delivery of this much-needed service to Port Hedland.
In addition, HMI has engaged local real estate agents, Hedland First National to provide short stay accommodation management services. Their expertise in short-stay accommodation management services will ensure the efficient and effective operation of the model.

FAQ: How is the valuation of an eligible property determined?
The agreed market value will be determined by two licenced valuers - one selected by Hedland Maritime Initiative and one selected by the property owner. Additional details on the valuation panels and scope of services are included in the Expression of Interest package that is issued to eligible Port Hedland Voluntary Buy-Back Scheme property owners.
Where these valuations are within 10 per cent of one another, the higher value will apply to the offer prices as the base market value at 6 August 2019. Where the difference is greater than 10 per cent, the final market value will be determined by an independent valuer appointed by Hedland Maritime Initiative.
