Watch this. And while you're watching it, and feeling it, hold in mind the babies and children, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, uncles, aunties, grandmothers, and grandfathers in our world who have been made to feel that they don't matter. Even when we sometimes miss those being with moments, if we are available consistently enough our children come to know we will come back to them and meet their needs for connection and emotional support.

How Do Children Learn Empathy?
Learning empathy starts with adult capacities – our energy levels, our feeling states, our sense of wellbeing all impact our capacity to remain empathic. The same is true for our children.
