From humble beginnings in an Elermore Vale garage to moving to the centrally located Newcastle suburb of Adamstown, Urdarov Upholstery has been re-upholstering and creating custom made furniture since March 2001.

The small business consists of the father and son team of Chris and Joshua and they are the dynamic duo of upholstering in Newcastle and the surrounding region.

Chris started in the furniture trade at Hansbuilt furniture in Mayfield in 1988. He learned the trade on the job from Austrian master craftsman Hans Froschauer. He worked there for 13 years until the opening of his new business in 2001.

Joshua joined the business in 2017, learning the trade from his father.

Urdarov Upholstery services both residential and commercial premises, including restaurants, cafes, retail shops, hotels, clubs, offices, libraries, universities, shopping centres, and medical suites.

The areas they service include Newcastle, the Hunter Region, Central Coast, as far north as Armidale and as far west as Dubbo and Bathurst.

Custom made bench seating and a fluted back rest in Warwick, Langham Spruce leather.

And a custom made bedhead 2.4m high by 2m wide in a linen fabric with exactly 137 buttons.

Re-upholstered this very old lounge suite. The three seater upholstered in Warwick Hastings Azure and the two chairs in Warwick Bridgewater Azure.

Reupholstered this old antique lounge in Ashley Wilde fabric Positano Fawn. The two arm chairs in woven print velvet on the inside backs and arms plain velvet for around the chairs.

Re-upholster dining room chairs in boucle fabric. The lounge upholstered in a James Dunlop fabric.

One of the jobs this week was to reupholster the bench seating for Grill’d at Westfield Kotara

For this lounge suite all the seats were rebuilt back into shape and upholstered in leather.
