Garde continues to make strong progress on a Battery Energy Storage System project in North West NSW, contributing to the delivery of critical infrastructure that will support Australia’s energy transition 🔋

With two civil crews now working in parallel, the team is maintaining momentum across key stages of the program while continuing to prioritise safety, quality and environmental compliance.

This is a complex project involving sensitive transmission and environmental zones, and our disciplined approach is helping ensure it is delivered to a high standard.

Meet Cassius 👋

Cassius is a key Project Engineer within our Civil Scope team and works closely with our Project Management crew to drive projects from initial staging through to final commissioning and handover 🛠️

Whether coordinating site programming or ensuring strict compliance with safety, quality and client protocols, his sharp eye for detail keeps our civil works running smoothly and safely.

Garde successfully illuminated the path to Western Sydney’s newest international gateway by delivering the complete streetlighting package for the major M12 Motorway West project 💡

Working across a dynamic, live construction corridor, our integrated civil and electrical teams executed an extensive technical scope:

➡️ Delivered 20km of trenching, 90km of cabling, and 500+ piling foundations to TfNSW standards.
➡️ Installed, tested and energised 550 streetlight columns, 19 switchboards and underpass lighting.
➡️ Safely navigated complex underground utilities across active motorway corridors and shared pathways.

Delivered under stringent quality control procedures, this project highlights our commitment to building safe, resilient infrastructure for Sydney’s growing transport network 🚗

Garde successfully delivered a comprehensive utility package for a major rail stabling and maintenance facility in Western Sydney 🚇

Our scope included:
⚡ Inground electrical services
⚡ Traction power supply and stray current trench
⚡ Low voltage trench
⚡ Inground telecommunications, signals and telecommunications trench
⚡ Signalling cable supporting structures

This major project demonstrated our capability to deliver complex electrical infrastructure for critical transport projects that will continue to shape the future of Western Sydney 🛫

Our crews continue to make strong progress on a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in North West NSW, with two civil crews now working in parallel to maintain momentum and support the delivery program 🔋

Crew 1 is advancing the major excavation works within the switchyard for the installation of conduits to the client's cable sealing ends, while Crew 2 is progressing the communications trench.

To date, the team has:
➡️ Installed more than 700 metres of trench
➡️ Placed over 1,500 tonnes of thermal stabilised backfill
➡️ Reached 46% completion of the major trench excavation

Once this stage is complete, works will progress along the remainder of the alignment, including the construction of two horizontal bores and two joint bays.

With the route traversing three transmission easements and three environmentally sensitive zones, our teams are implementing careful environmental controls to prevent cross-contamination while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental compliance.
