MORE LOVELIES! Beautiful early twentieth century sashes. Now lovingly refurbished, painted, draught proofed 😍. Thanks again to Ralf Kat Wittmann for his help on this one πŸ™.

GENERALLY I'm not a fan of rush jobs though at times, I understand, when you gotta go you gotta go πŸ€”. Working through the weekend helped and so did having Ralf onsite for a day's hard Yakka 🀭 Ultimately, you make it so it's worthwhile to you and the customer and at the successful conclusion, everyone's happy 😁

ERIC HOLLENBACH Blue Ox | Millworks says speed follows quality. As a specialist in hand tool woodworking I have to agree. Of course I could have saved a few minutes using a spindle moulder and a tenoner, but sticking the mouldings and cutting the joinery by hand meant I was able to dial it in without trial or test pieces πŸ‘. AND, the finished repair is in keeping with the hundred year old sash, aesthetically pleasing, solid for another 50 plus years, damn satisfying! πŸ™Œ

FOR SMALL ROOMS I don't break out the pedastool floor sander, there's no need. It's amazing what results you can achieve with a variety of small but heavy duty sanding and yes, with a bit of hand sanding too 😁. Beautifully flat, smooth, ready for filling and draught proofing πŸ™Œ

MY PREPARATIONS are underway for the Oatlands Heritage and Bullock festival 2026! It's less than two weeks away and I'm getting the hand tools set, compiled, and boxed up ready to travel. As in previous years, I'll be working out of the courtyard on High Street - 104. It's all thanks to Kat and Ralf Kat Wittmann. πŸ™Œ. If you come on either or both days, please be sure to stop and say hi, I'm already looking forward to it πŸ˜€

AN OLD DOOR, inside a new framework, installed in an old opening. Lots of custom work, milling, shimming, and wedging 🀭 Thankfully, the custom jamb in the middle of this unlikely trifecta was true and square from the guys n gals Triline Doors πŸ™.

BIGGEST DAY? The Heritage and Bullock festival in Oatlands 2026 is just around the proverbial corner. I'm raiding the stock for suitable component pieces for my stool making and hand tool demonstrations. Privileged again this year, thanks to Kat and Ralf Kat Wittmann, to be at 104 high street and amongst all the good passersby πŸ™. On the 8th and 9th of August, come out and see us all, it gets better every year and I'll look forward to catching up with ya all πŸ₯³
