UV damage is one of the biggest threats to outdoor furniture in Australia, but it is also one of the easiest things to underestimate.
At first, the damage is not always obvious. The colour starts to soften. Fabric that once looked fresh begins to fade. Plastics and cheaper components can become brittle. Frame finishes can start to chalk, peel or discolour after a few seasons in the sun.
