If you need a recap on how this piece looked previously, just scroll back a few posts…quite the transformation, yes?

I work with timber, not photography and this was a big piece to fit into one shot. I got there in the end but I think it’s worthwhile appreciating the different components that make up the end showstopper.

Family piece āœ…

I visited this piece before it came to the workshop. It definitely ticked all the boxes!

Originally belonging to our clients grandmother, it was delivered to the family home on the back of a horse drawn carriage.

A small town, sitting halfway between Charleville and Cunnamulla, with two hotels to its name, the Commercial and the Gladstone. Population of the pastoral township sat around 150 at that time.

The sun beat down hard during the day and in the evening, reading was done by lamplight, listening to the cockatoo’s squawking as they settle for the night…

The local state school had 20 students total. Trades and professions listed for the town included Bakers, Graziers, Fruiterers, Music Teacher, Storekeepers as well as a Stock Inspector.

A different era altogether…
A little slice of Australian history…

Hi Restoration lovers! Well it’s been a while indeed, hope all is well for you? While I’ve not been active on socials for a long while, I’m still here - in the workshop, doing what I love.
I’ve got a beautiful piece to share and thought I’d check to see if anyone was still here?

Ready for upholstery! I have a few pics from this dining set which I will share this week.
Our client had booked our services previously and when they told me they had a Rosenstengel Dining Suite ready for some TLC, I jumped at the chance. I have long admired Rosenstengel’s legacy and this dining set being delivered for Christmas lunch made my heart sing.

Quality timber furniture. That’s all there is to say 🧔

It’s been hectic recently. School graduations and formals, international family visiting, family birthdays…
Still working away in the workshop (and loving this cool change!)

The perfect finishing touch to a gorgeous restoration, don’t you think?

Personally, this sound doesn’t bother me … but it irritates others. How about you?
