Have you heard of Back2CAD? It uses the same commands as Autocad and the file is also dwg and compatible with Autocad. The only difference is the price. USD$300 for a perpetual license.

I have been using it and it is excellent. I don't know how it is legal for one company to partially copy AutoCAD.

Hello. I live in Brisbane and I am preparing house plans for builders only because a builder is permitted to submit his or her own drawings to a certifier.
