Shou Sugi Ban style refers to Yakisugi (Shou Sugi Ban) is a Japanese way of preserving wood using fire. All wood is carefully selected, and of the finest quality. We employ a variety of methods, including Shou Sugi Ban style. We have over 30+years of welding, fabrication, design experience. Our store has a variety of items, but are able to do custom orders as well. While we are from the Midwest, w
e are now based out of Tucson, Arizona. We know every product counts, and our passion for excellence continues to drive us into the future. If you see something you like, but not in the color you want, contact us as many items are available in the color of your choice. And don’t forget we are able to do custom jobs as well.
What is Shou Sugi Ban Wood? Japanese used this technique to preserve the wood used often for building from weather and insects. This style of wood is typically colorless, I have decided to add color to this technique as it produces beautiful results beyond the natural beauty of the wood. Basically this means before any paint or stain is applied to the wood, the wood is deeply burned, and then the char is removed. Due to this unique process, no two boards turn out the same. Each product is unique, and no pieces are the same. Even if the same wood, and paint/stain are used, from the same cut of lumber products will still all be different due to variation in the wood. While we offer many different products in our store, we also realize we may not have the exact color listed in the product you would like. If you would like to order an item that is not listed in the color you want, please send a message noting the item, and what color you want. Each item that is available will have a picture of colors it is available for custom order in. Additionally, we are able to do custom work. If you would like us to create something for you not listed for sale on our website please contact us and providing details about what you would like created and what you budget is for the project.
