One of the best parts of a project is this moment. Putting the render next to the room that actually got built.

The render was never just a pretty picture. It's where the materials, the proportions and the millwork get decided, and where you find out whether they talk to each other. Before anyone cuts anything.

I just finished a proposal and I want to show you how it came out.

The client wanted two rooms rebuilt: the garage and the home gym.

If you're not selling drawers like this, you're not selling high-end. And that's not on you, it's on who supplies you.

Three things to check on a drawer. This is the last one.

Look underneath. The slides are undermount, tucked below the box, so nothing shows on the side of your cabinet.

Remember the Slim Shaker doors from last week? We just assembled the full unit.

Installed and tested before it ever reaches your client's house, because nothing should go wrong there.

Now look at the grain. Every wood grain runs the same way as the slim rail. That's the part nobody points at and everybody feels.

And the glass door is still Slim Shaker. The glass is fixed from behind, so the door keeps the exact same slim line as the rest of the unit.

Three things to check on a drawer. This is the second. These are three different fronts. Look at the grain and tell me where one ends. You can't.

They're cut sequenced from the same sheet. And it doesn't stop at the drawer. The grain runs across every cabinet where it'll be seen together, the tall unit beside it, the door that closes the run.

Someone decided that before the sheet was cut. It can't be fixed on site. Next week, the last one: what's underneath that drawer.
