Rebuilding our backyard from scratch means I will be planting every season for the foreseeable future.

As soon as the weather cools off, you know you can find me in the garden!

Here is what I’ll be planting in my garden beds this fall! Almost all perennials that will continue to grow and fill in my empty beds!

I’ve never seen the Japanese Anemone in person, but all the pictures I’ve seen are so impressive!

This will be my first year planting tulips or bulbs in general - I’ll keep you posted on how that goes!

We started with a pretty blank slate — especially after construction on the garage left our yard a total mess.

A labor of love from the whole family, for sure! From designing to building to watering and weeding every morning with mom… we really do use the heck out of our yard now!

So much more work to be done, but I’m glad we can see the value and use of the space even while it’s in progress. One thing you won’t find me doing? Rushing a project to the finish line just for the sake of finishing it. The process is the fun part!
