Time to take some time off and rejuvenate this summer. Season 6 will begin in September.

My guests today are prolific contemporary artist, Gasby Brown and veteran actor Leon Pinkney. They have had wonderful careers and are still contributing their spirits to the uplifting of humanity.

Gasby Brown has lived a fulfilling life in many disciplines. She was a financial correspondent on television in New York, a professor, a nonprofit organization executive, and a public relations leader. She also have painted 600 paintings, being self-taught! She has worked for WNEW TV in New York, National Urban League, Green Peace and Washington Opera Company, which became the Washington National Opera Company under her executive marketing and public relations guidance!

Leon Pinkney is a writer, an actor, speaker. Films that he has been in includes "Car Wash",
"Aaron Loves Angela" and "The Gambler".He is currently featured in "Delusional" on Amazon Prime. He has many Theater credits, including "What the Wine Seller Buys" produced and directed by Woodie King, Jr. He is also an energy healing practitioner, of which he will explain! You will love this episode with such talented giants.🤗❤️

My guest is the great
William "Bill" Easley, born in Olean, NY, is a saxophonist, flutist and clarinetist, has performed with some of the most iconic musicians, including George Benson, Isaac Hayes, Ruth Brown, Ron Carter, Grady Tate, Bobby Short, John Lewis, Winton Marsalis and Louis Bellson, just to name a few! He has been part of the orchestra of 10 Broadway Shows, including Black and Blue, Sophisticated Ladies, The Wiz, Jelly Last Jam, Fosse. As side from being a sideman on many recording, he has 5 recording as a leader. He has performed in a host of club such as Minton's, Village Vanguard in New York, Plugged Nickel in Chicago, The Jazz Work Shop in Boston to Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. He began performing with his father, a bandleader with his own band and his mother, who was a master pianist.

This episode is informative, historic yet oh so funny! It is not to be missed. You'll love meeting Bill Easley!!!🤗

My guest is the legendary Bobby Hunter, a 9 year member of one of the greatest sports franchises in sports history... the world famous, Harlem Globetrotter. He was with the franchise for 9 years, beginning in 1966. The history of that time unfolds right before your very eyes. While my episodes tend to be longer, Mr. Hunter was on Zoom in Florida during a hurricane, which interrupted the transmission from time to time. This still is a treasured episode.

Some of his teammates were Meadowlark Lemon, Curley , Bobby Joe Mason. They toured all over the world.

While his basketball career is marvelously reviewed and discussed, it is the revelations at the beginning of the episode that make this truly special. It's an eye-opening, nostalgic yet funny episode! 😄 Don't miss it! 🤗

I re-release a video my granddaughter, Jewel Williams, a six grader at the time (8th grader now 😉🤗), created and hosted about the Black Panther Party. It features a former member of the Black Panther and Black Liberation Army, Jamal Joseph, who is writer, director, producer, poet, activist, and educator.
Mr Joseph was prosecuted as one of the Panther 21, spending 6 years incarcerated.

A friend of Afeni Shakur and Godfather of Tupac Shakur, he earned a BA summa cm laude from the University of Kansas. He is a full professor and former chair of Columbia University's Graduate Film Division and artistic director of the New Heritage Theatre Group in Harlem. He was nominated for a 2008 Academy Award in Best Song category for his contributions to the song "Raise It Up," performed by Impact Repertory Theatre and Jamia Nash in the 2007 film August Rush. His memoir Panther Baby was published in February 2012. He co-wrote and directed the feature Chapter & Verse through Harlem Film Company, which he co founded with producer Cheryl Hill.
