As professional Organizer working directly with clients in their homes, our goal is always to get you to pair down to the things you use need and love. But why is it so challenging sometimes to declutter? Here are some of the common reasons I see people struggle with parting things.
1. The item was expensive.
2. It was a gift
3. it’s sentimental or it holds a memory
4. They struggle with the “what if” complex
5. Fear or loss of control

Is it hard for you to part with things? If so…why?

Do you know what simply sucks the joy out of cooking? Having to dig through your cabinets for the spices that you need only to find out that half of them are expired duplicated or empty.

I’m a fan of spices in a drawer, but if you don’t have the space for that cabinet is my next go to.

Lazy Susan’s are a great way for you to get a 360 view of what you have. If I’m storing spices in a drawer, then I’m putting them in alphabetical order, but it’s a little harder to maintain in a cabinet.

I would group the spices that you use most often together and put them on the shelf closest to you. Stick things like bulk items high up.
