Brought my soon-to-be graduating design students to check out the place where my career as a furniture designer began decades ago, and to catch a great sharing session by on his design journey with thanks for hosting us !

It is always nice to be able to share my work and love for Design. I love sharing processes and outcomes. It usually creates and get a dialogue going. This pic was taken in IFFS International Furniture Fair Show 2015 in Singapore, when I had *cough* short hair.

Sharing some recent works with designers and makers from Bandung/West Java at the Singapore National Design Centre. Did you know that Singapore and Bandung are both UNESCO Creative Cities of Design - both were the first Southeast Asian Cities to receive the designation in Dec 2015 @ National Design Centre

Designing a chair #101:
The journey of designing a chair starts with an idea that is often romantic (for me at least). Lots of iterations in the drawings, and effort in changing the millimeters during prototyping, all before a single chair gets sold. I sometimes ask myself at various design stages if the world needs another chair, table, etc, and it’s only after seeing how they are being contextualized in the surrounding, that I believe the answer is yes, the world does need another chair (call it pls!)

Thanks to the brilliant for this lovely pic taken at office - it reminded me so much of that romance, when an idea peeps out of the corner inside my head, waiting to be explored, to be realized.
