Greta the Great is 4!! Thanks to impeccable design skills, she’s a timeless beauty.
I never imagined how much I would learn, how hard it would be and how alone I would feel trying to build this business with absolutely no biz or product experience. So today I'm going to celebrate the wins πŸ’ͺ

✨ Over 100+ retailers around the planet (and counting)
✨ Thousands of Greta's have repurposed old fishing nets and found a new life as a toy around the world, most of which were hand packaged by me while my kids were sleeping!
✨ 160kg+ of Co2 emissions saved from entering earths atmosphere!
✨ 3x international design awards including 2x GOLD!
✨ Distribution in France
✨ Teaching my kids that you can build something to create change!!

Around 86% of plastic pollution in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch comes from the fishing industry. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is THREE times the size of France. Let that sink in. πŸ‹

Plastic pollution washed up on Little Palm Beach on Waiheke Island. 🌴 Even the most pristine beaches have microplastics hiding in the sand. 🐚 It's estimated that 14 million tons of microplastic exist on the whole ocean floor which, as well as disrupting the ocean's ecosystem, is an issue for human health as it travels up the food chain.

It's been a wild week here in Auckland with disastrous flooding showing us the effects of climate change in real time.

I took a break from work over summer to spend time with my family and after this week I am more determined than ever to help make sure Earth is a safe and beautiful place for my kids. Sending strength to New Zealanders facing the road of recovery ahead. Link in bio to see how you can help or how you can get help.

Meet , the creative mind behind Greta the Great's beautiful design.

Tim Rundle is an Industrial Designer who has worked with world-renowned brands such as Tom Dixon, Joseph Joseph, Menu, SP01, and Conran & Partners to create lighting, furniture, and interior products.

Tim aimed to create a tactile toy that would free a child's creativity through a balance of charming anamorphism and iconic abstraction, inspired by the sea turtle and famous design objects of the twentieth century.
